Vision
and Strategy
Some key principles:
Firstly, we take our direction from
the Word of God.
(2 Timothy 3:16)
Secondly, nothing of lasting value happens unless
it is done by encountering the Spirit.
Third, we are committed
to transformation as individuals, rather than just knowing more
things! Start at the Centre… the
Heart of our Strategy
Celebration… Small
Groups
It is important that we grow individually and together. Our church life is played
out in a combination of small groups (Discipleship Groups) and larger celebrations
(Sunday Services and Week Four Meetings). We will encourage people to be involved
in both. |
Personal Journey… Worship
We
recognise that every one of us is on a Christian journey
personal to each of us. We will endeavour to understand
and appreciate that, providing support and encouragement
as appropriate.
However, we want all that we do to be done in a spirit of worship: worship
not just in meetings, but in every part of our daily lives. |
The Outer Circle… we could
have started here!
Reaching ~ where many start their journey
•
This is so important to us: ‘Go and make disciples of all
nations…’
• The events here are focused on the seeker.
• It is the responsibility of us all to befriend not-yet-Christians,
and invite them to these events.
• We want to make sure that when you bring your friends to events,
you are bringing them to something that is of a good quality
and run well.
Restoring ~ many new Christians need this, but so do mature ones
• We want to recognise that many of us carry baggage that needs to
be left at the Cross.
• Many of us, having done that, pick up more as we go through life.
• Others will hit barriers that seem impossible to move.
•
Courses, workshops, ‘one-on-one’s are provided to
help, heal and restore.
Maturing ~ growing Christians to be more and more like Christ
• Discipleship Groups provide opportunities to learn and grow.
• Courses are arranged both within Discipleship Groups and separately,
to provide general and targeted (eg baptism) learning.
• Our aim is to help you know more, but more importantly, to be able
to apply your knowledge in a loving Christ-like way. Ministry ~ everyone should sooner or later be released into ministry
• We want to help you to express your God-given gifts.
•
We want to help equip you for your ministry. It’s vital that
it’s your calling.
• Much of this will be worked out within LCF, but not exclusively:
those called out will be encouraged and supported.
Why the gaps in each quadrant?
Whilst the journey is often clockwise, we recognise that we all
may need to move into Restoration sometimes!
